Strategic Governance Board
The PCC and Chief Constable hold a quarterly meeting, attended by chief officers from both organisations, known as the Strategic Governance Board.
Held in private, but with decisions published below, the meetings enable the PCC to exercise his statutory functions, making decisions relating to strategic direction, policy issues and medium/long-term planning. It also provides a regular structured opportunity for the PCC and Chief Constable to brief one another and discuss any pertinent issues.
The first Strategic Governance Board took place on 22 September 2016, and were held monthly thereafter, moving to bi-monthly at the start of 2022 and then quarterly at the start of 2023. The last Strategic Governance Board meeting took place on Wednesday 2 October 2024 and has since been replaced with six-weekly Strategic Deep Dive sessions.
Please see below Strategic Governance Board Meeting summaries from the last three years. Reports outside of this timeframe are available upon request.
