Your chance to quiz PCC and Chief Constable early in 2019
Norfolk’s Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) and Chief Constable will be answering questions from the public at their first Q&A session of 2019.PCC Lorne Green and Chief Constable Simon Bailey will host the event at The Forum in Norwich on Wednesday 9 January to give people the opportunity to share views, issues or concerns about crime and policing in their area.
The event will be the first of its kind for 2019 as part of the Commissioner’s ongoing pledge to give the public access to the county’s senior officers while ensuring he and the wider police service are visible, accessible and accountable to all.
In 2018 the PCC hosted five Q&A sessions across the county in areas including Watton, Downham Market, Great Yarmouth, Cromer and Taverham.
Such events are held separately to the Public Accountability Forum (PAF) meetings, held regularly at police headquarters in Wymondham, where the PCC holds the Chief Constable to account for Norfolk’s policing service.
“As Norfolk’s Police and Crime Commissioner, it is important I continue listen to any concerns people may have about policing in the county,” said Lorne.
“The Norfolk public really bought into the Q&A events in 2018 and I hope the sessions prove to be equally successful in 2019.
“I am very much looking forward to the event. I hope local residents will welcome the opportunity to raise any views or concerns they may have face-to-face with myself and the Chief Constable.”
The Q&A will be held on Wednesday 9 January 2019 at 6pm in The Forum, Bethel Street, Millennium Plain, Norwich, NR2 1BH.
