Norfolk’s PCC supports #BlueLightDay
Norfolk’s Police and Crime Commissioner has today paid tribute to the county’s team of “dedicated and committed” emergency service personnel.Lorne Green’s comments - made on #BlueLightDay - come only days after he called for tougher sentences for people who attack emergency workers by writing to the Justice Secretary David Lidington.
“Today we celebrate and recognise the hard work and commitment of our dedicated emergency services across the country,” said Lorne.
“We have truly loyal teams at Norfolk Constabulary, Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service and the East of England Ambulance Service in Norfolk, who tirelessly work alongside other lifesaving volunteers to keep us all safe.
“My role means I have a particular focus on those in the whole policing family and on behalf of the people of Norfolk I would like to thank them all for what they do on our behalf.”
The PCC and Norfolk’s Chief Constable Simon Bailey wrote to David Lidington to call for ‘strong Government support’ for the Assaults on Emergency Workers (Offences) Bill being discussed by Parliament on Wednesday.
