Complaints against the Chief Constable 

Your Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) has a statutory duty to consider complaints against the Chief Constable.If you wish to make a formal complaint against the Chief Constable, please contact the PCC in writing at:

Please note that the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Norfolk cannot investigate anonymous complaints and will not enter into correspondence with individuals who have used foul or abusive language.

Complaint Reviews

Anyone who remains dissatisfied with the way that Norfolk Constabulary has dealt with their complaint has the right to request a review of the outcome. The review will be considered by either the OPCCN or the IOPC. You will be advised of the relevant review body at the conclusion of the complaint in writing.

Community Engagement

The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCCN) plays a critical role in the work of the NCSP. The Partnership is managed by the OPCCN and meetings of the NCSP are chaired by the OPCCN’s Chief Executive. OPCCN staff work closely with other members of the Partnership across areas such as crime prevention, safeguarding and vulnerability, and victim support. 

Police and Crime Commissioners (PCCs) and Community Safety Partnerships have a duty to take into account each other’s priorities, to ensure there is a joined-up approach to tackling shared priorities. ASB Case Review (formerly Community Trigger) 

If you have reported to the police, the council and/or your housing provider on three or more occasions, about separate incidents of Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) in the past six months within one month of each incident happening, you can apply for an ASB Case Review. Alternatively, you can make an application by calling your local council and asking someone to help you to complete the form.

Commissioning  

Your Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) is responsible for providing services for victims of crime. 

These range from our multi-crime services, Norfolk and Suffolk Victim Care, which can provide practical and emotional support to any victim of crime in Norfolk above the age of four, to specialist services such as the Norfolk Integrated Domestic Abuse Service (NIDAS).

Grants

The PCC has the power to award grants to voluntary and community sector organisations, including charities and community groups, to deliver services and projects to:

  • reduce crime and disorder
  • support victims of crime to cope and recover
